What does it look like between the stars? With the exhibition Interstellar Ruth Campau creates a universe where materials meet, collide, mix and take new forms. Her characteristic stringent brushstrokes are in contrast to splotches of colour and create tension between materiality and content. Campau examines what happens when gas and matter meet in space and on surface.
The spray painted areas on the works are a result of of an explosion, where gases meet and catapult material foward, colliding and tracing reactions and events in time and space.
Through sculpture, collage and painting the spectator is allowed a gaze into a place where matter takes shape. The exhibition is a visit in a kind of workshop, where we can mirror ourselves in the reactive processes, which are the building blocks for our reality, our world and our universe.
